Totalling up expendature for the month after being in S.A for the Limestone Symposium and purchasing tools and stone for the next couple of months. Plenty of outs and a few ins in the account. Have decided to become a sole trader artist. Talked to my accountant and he reckons it time. So Ive taken responsibility for getting my reciepts and tax invoices in order at least and in one place, a folder for each month. Getting excited about going to Maroochydore and woirking with the ITALIANS and Fong and Craig Medson. Reckon Ill learn alot here and hopefully make some new friends. Thought about getting hold of an Italian CD to learn some phrases on the way up on the long drive. it will take me at least two days to drive there. Had a visit from Paul Stumkat and his family who live near Warrick in Qld. He works in sandstone, good fella who was trained as a taxidermist in Museum work and model making. Knows his wild life and is a handy carver, he sold a big carved frog in S.A. to the arts admin people from the government. Will drop in for a cuppa or stay the night on the way up with them. Have had a forward payment for the symposium so the credit card will be paid off and there will be some free board on the account. Feeling confident that the design that Ive submitted and the material (Chillego Marble) will look great when its finished. All tooled up now with diamond blades and a new varible speed Boch polisher for the (symposium finish) called thus because of the limited time for creating a final surface, no ultra shine on this work, takes too long. Take the finish back to 60 grade and thats it. Still waiting for the engineer to fix the blades to my two angle grinders so they run flat and level with out any protrusion from the lock on nut. The blade is screwed onto a flang with counter sunk screws instead of a large nut. This makes the blade to be able to run flat on the surface instead of an angle to the surface. Did that make sense?? Driving Dieters Toyota so the trip will be comfortable but no quick. Thirsty old 4x4. Load up tools tomorrow and off. |
